Falls Church, VA — October 22, 2004: Terabeam Wireless, the business name of YDI Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:YDIW), a leading developer and supplier of broadband wireless solutions, has been named to Deloitte’s prestigious Technology Fast 500 Program for North America, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services firms. Earlier, the company was named to Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program for Virginia. Both rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999-2003. Terabeam Wireless’ increase in revenues of 1,001% from 1999 to 2003 resulted in a 12 th place ranking in the Fast 50 for Virginia and a 218 th place ranking in the Fast 500 for North America.

Robert Fitzgerald, Terabeam Wireless’s CEO, said “We are proud to be honored as a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 and a Technology Fast 500 winner. Much of the news surrounding us this year has centered on several acquisitions we have announced, but the period covered by this award precedes that activity. As formidable as our growth has been in the past, our acquisitions have provided us with more diversified products for future growth.”

“Attracting enough customers to maintain quadruple-digit growth over five years makes a strong statement about the quality of a company’s product and its leadership,” said Mark Evans, national managing partner of Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. “Terabeam Wireless has shown the right stuff for growth.”

Fast 500 Selection and Qualifications

The Fast 500 list is compiled from Deloitte’s 19 regional North American Fast 50 programs, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 1999 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD and $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively; and 2003 operating revenues must be at least $1 million USD or CD.

Entrants must also be public or private companies headquartered in North America and must be a “technology company,” defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
