Key Features
DescriptionThe AP+™ is a firmware upgrade that loads into products such as the Terabeam Wireless AP-Plus Access Point. It transforms these units into powerful, feature-rich IEEE 802.11b Access Points. One of its key enhanced features is intra-cell blocking - the isolation of wireless clients preventing them from relaying packets to each other. This is great for use at a WIPOP (Wireless Internet Point of Presence) to offer high-speed wireless Internet services since the clients will not be able to link to each other by using Network Neighborhood or any other network protocols! Another feature offered by AP+™ is the ability to perform a repeating function by using a dual-slot AP such as the AP-Plus. One of the cards is loaded with Super-EC client software and the second card with AP+™ software. This way it can act as a high-speed relay station - all in one dual-slot AP! This makes it ideal for large area Wireless LAN deployment and ease of scalability. The AP+™ software can talk to both standard 802.11b devices (such as the EtherAnt, WEC-EXT, USB-Ant, etc.) and a Super-EC client. It is smart enough to know who is who and can automatically adjust its protocol to each one. The AP+™ also supports 802.1x security protocol, which provides user-based authentication and automatic key-distribution in both directions. Additionally, the AP+™ firmware supports SNMP and MIB II for monitoring and control, and it works with RADIUS servers for user authentication. Full List of Features
