v5.02-00 — September 10, 2004

Features

  • Added an SNMP secuity feature that protects the transfer of data over your network.
  • Added a feature which allows you to restore the last good configuration in the event of device lockup/failure.
  • Added a warning message when opening .cnf and .bin files stating that opening files via these menu options will change all configuration and calibration settings to their pre-manufacture defaults.

Issues Fixed

  • Improved the mechanism for upgrading software by filtering license keys based on MAC addresses of the units to be upgraded.

Known Issues

  • Version 5.02 of the TurboCell Kernel incorporates a fundamental protocol change related to packet framing, and is incompatible with Version 5.00 of the TurboCell Kernel. We recommend that you upgrade any KB20 hardware devices (Wireless Base Stations, Wireless Repeater Units, Wireless Clients) to Version 5.02 because future releases of the TurboCell Configurator will be based on this version. However, if you upgrade to Version 5.02 from Version 5.00, you must upgrade every Version 5.00 hardware device in your network. It is also imperative that you upgrade any Version 5.00 satellite/client stations in your network before you upgrade the Version 5.00 base stations in your network.

You also need to make sure that you are using the latest version (v5.02) of the TurboCell Windows Configurator with v5.02 of the TurboCell Kernel.

V5.00-01 — June 02, 2004

Issues Fixed

  • v5.00-01 of the Configurator can now configure the v3.xx releases of the KarlBridge kernels.
  • The TurboCell Advanced Setup screen of the v5.00-00 RapidPtP Configurator contained a reference to the TurboCell Access Control List screen, which is not available in the RapidPtP Configurator. That reference was removed.
  • When TurboMode was enabled, the Frequency Channel field on the TurboCell Advanced Setup screen of v5.00-00 of the standard Configurator contained an empty list. That dropdown list is now populated with the available channels for the USA.

V5.00-00 — May 17, 2004

Known Issues

  • Reported RF signal values may vary from actual levels by as much as plus or minus 3 dB due to differences in radio reporting methods.

Updates to KarlNet Configurator Version 4.44-01 — December 19, 2003

  • Included extended SNMP timeout. The extended SNMP timeout feature allows you to configure the remote unit through a high latency link such as a satellite link.
  • Importing a previous version of the configuration file (e.g., version 4.43k) no longer causes the "incompatible configuration file" message.

Known Issues

  • The KarlNet Configurator v4.44-01 help is fully functional for the following operating systems:
    • Windows 2000
    • Windows XP
    • Windows 2003 Server
  • The configurator help will function with the exception of the search feature for Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows NT 4.0. The search feature will also function for these operating systems, but only if you run the help file (.chm extension) independent of the Configurator application.
