This page will summarize the Terabeam Wireless Return Material Authorization (RMA) policy and will guide you on what to do in case an RMA is required. This includes the policies for YDI Wireless, Terabeam and KarlNet. From now on, the companies will collectively be referred to as Terabeam Wireless. Limited Warranty

Terabeam Wireless manufactured products are warranted against factory defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from date of purchase. If a customer believes a product purchased from Terabeam Wireless is defective and returns the product to Terabeam Wireless during the warranty period, Terabeam Wireless shall at its sole option and expense repair or replace (with new or refurbished equivalent or upgraded equipment) the product or refund some or all of the purchase price (based upon the amount of time the product was used and the condition of the product as returned) if Terabeam Wireless determines it fails to comply with the warranties set forth above. All non-manufactured products carry the OEM’s warranty which is passed on by Terabeam Wireless to the extent permitted.

All printed circuit board products (KN50, KN150, KN250, KN105 and KN205) are sold “as is.” Terabeam Wireless provides no warranty and assumes no liability for these products.

Software Limited Warranty, Upgrades, and Exchanges

The following provisions apply specifically to software products sold by Terabeam Wireless (“Software”).

Terabeam Wireless warrants that (i) the media on which the Software is delivered will be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from earlier of the date of original invoice or the date of shipment of such media to the customer (“Software Warranty Period”) and (ii) during the Software Warranty Period, the Software will perform as described in Terabeam Wireless’ then current functional specifications for the Software. If during the Software Warranty Period the media on which Software is delivered proves to be defective or the Software does not meet the warranty requirements set forth in clause (ii) above, Terabeam Wireless will repair or replace such media or Software, as the case may be, or refund the purchase price, at Terabeam Wireless’ sole option, and as the customer’s sole remedy for any breach of the warranty set forth in clauses (i) and (ii) above. Except as otherwise agreed by Terabeam Wireless in writing, the repaired or replacement media or Software, as the case may be, will be provided only to the original purchaser and is subject to the terms and conditions of the license granted by Terabeam Wireless for the Software. Repaired or replacement media or Software will be warranted for the remainder of the original Software Warranty Period.

Terabeam Wireless generally provides free upgrades to its Software as new versions are released (for example, from version 4.43 to 4.46). Software and related licenses can only be exchanged for a different type of Software or license (for example, from one-user to unlimited user) within the first thirty days from the date of original invoice.

The customer assumes full responsibility for: (i) the selection of the Software; (ii) the proper installation and use of the Software; (iii) verifying the results obtained from the use of the Software; and (iv) taking appropriate measures to prevent loss of data. Terabeam Wireless does not warrant that the operation of the Software will meet the customer’s requirements or that the customer will be able to achieve any particular results from use of the Software or that the Software will operate free from error.

Limitation of Warranty

This warranty does not apply if the Product (a) has been opened, repaired, and/or altered, except by Terabeam Wireless technical personnel, (b), not maintained in accordance with instructions supplied by Terabeam Wireless, (c) has been subjected to abnormal physical or electrical stress, misuse, negligence, or accident or improper storage, transportation, installation or use; (d) has had its serial number label removed, or (e) os equipment sold under resale agreements, i.e. Breezecom, Nokia, ORiNOCO, Motorola, and Proxim equipment. Disclaimer of warranty: Except as specified in this warranty, all express or implied conditions, representations, and warranties including, without limitation, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non infringement, satisfactory quality or arising from a course of dealing, law, usage, or trade practice, are hereby excluded to the extent allowed by applicable law. To the extent an implied warranty cannot be excluded, such warranty is limited in duration to the warranty period. Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This disclaimer and exclusion shall apply even if the express warranty set forth above fails of its essential purpose.

Warranty Repair

Terabeam Wireless will carefully test and evaluate all returned products and will repair or replace defective products that are under warranty at no charge. If the product cannot be repaired, a replacement product will be provided. However, if Terabeam Wireless cannot duplicate the problem or condition causing the return, the unit will be returned to the customer as: "No Problem Found" and a $75.00 evaluation fee will be charged (EX, 4X, CX, and RAN products have a minimum $600 repair fee. GigaLink has a quoted evaluation and repair fee.) Repaired or replaced product will be subject to the original warranty period but not less than 30 days.

Conditions:

  • The defective unit must be within warranty.
  • Customer must return the defective unit to Terabeam Wireless at its own expense.
  • Terabeam Wireless will pay for "like shipment" back to the customer.
  • Customer must obtain a valid RMA number before shipping the unit back.

Out of Warranty Repairs Replacements

Terabeam Wireless does offer out-of-warranty diagnostic and repair services for certain of its products. Out-of-warranty diagnostics and repairs must be approved and paid for by the customer prior to beginning the repair. Terabeam Wireless will not offer a replacement product for a defective product that is out of warranty. Contact your sales representative for details.

What information will be required?

  • Customer name/ID # and contact information
  • Warranty Status (Data of purchase, sales order number or sales invoice number)
  • Problem Description
  • Part Number or Serial Number
  • Troubleshooting actions taken so far
  • Credit card information (out of warranty repairs or replacements only)
  • SHIP TO: address
Conditions:
  • RMA number is valid for 15 days only.
  • If the product is not received within 15 days, the RMA will be cancelled.
  • In an out-of-warranty repair or replacement situation, the customer must agree to pay the Terabeam Wireless costs before any work will be performed or a repaired or replacement product will be shipped to the customer.

What to ship?

Returned product must be complete, in original package and include all components. All returned product must reference the RMA # on the outside of the box. A returned product without clearly marked RMA# will be refused and returned to sender.

Products returned for warranty repair or out-of-warranty replacement, must be marked with a valid RMA number and forwarded (FOB Destination, Prepaid) to:

  • Approximate turnaround time is 13 business days for warranty repairs and replacements.
  • Terabeam Wireless will refuse any item that does not have an RMA# clearly marked on the outside of the box.
  • All RMA items shipped to Terabeam Wireless must be freight prepaid. Terabeam Wireless will pay the return freight via UPS Ground (only available within the United States) or similar service. Customer is responsible for payment of any shipping upgrades (UPS Blue/Red or similar service) and for all return shipping costs on non-warranty repairs and on all international repairs.
  • Terabeam Wireless is NOT responsible for any damage to the products during transit by the shipping company.
  • All claims for shipment errors must be made within 5 days after receipt of shipment.
All products must be returned in "As Sold" condition including all original boxes, labeling and manuals. Higher fees may apply based on the condition of the returned product(s).
